The Texas Water Development Board today approved financial assistance totaling $602,719 for two urgent needs projects

AUSTIN – (April 10, 2015) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance for two urgent needs projects related to the ongoing drought. The two projects will allow the communities to address their need for additional water supplies.

  1. $102,719 in financial assistance to the City of Mart (McLennan County) for a water supply project
  2. $500,000 in financial assistance to the White River Municipal Water District (Crosby, Dickens and Garza counties) for a water supply project

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
