AUSTIN – (November 17, 2016) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $233,610,000 for water and wastewater system improvements. Of this funding, $21,760,000 was designated for rural water projects.

$5,175,000 to the City of Anahuac (Chambers County) for water system improvements
$11,440,000 to the City of Anahuac (Chambers County) for wastewater system improvements
$159,500,000 to the City of Pearland (Brazoria County) for a water treatment plant
$500,000 to the City of Cisco (Eastland County) for a water treatment plant
$1,395,000 to the City of Cottonwood Shores (Burnet County) for water treatment plant improvements
$5,470,000 to the City of Hondo (Medina County) for water system improvements
$1,125,000 to the City of West Tawakoni (Hunt County) for water system improvements
$2,125,000 to the Greater Texoma Utility Authority on behalf of the Lake Kiowa Special Utility District (Cooke County) for water system improvements
$11,880,000 to the Greater Texoma Utility Authority on behalf of the City of Sherman (Grayson County) for water system improvements
$35 million to the City of Lubbock (Lubbock County) for a drainage improvement project

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
