Texas Water Development Board approves $5,741,175 to the City of Grand Prairie (Dallas, Ellis, and Tarrant counties) for wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN – (January 26, 2017) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $5,741,175, consisting of a $5,110,000 loan and $631,175 in loan forgiveness, from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the City of Grand Prairie (Dallas, Ellis, and Tarrant counties). The City will use the assistance to finance construction of wastewater system improvements.
The City could save approximately $708,000 over the life of the loan portion of the commitment by using the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.
With the assistance approved today, the City will be able to finance the replacement of existing wastewater collection pipelines.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
