AUSTIN – (March 9, 2017)  Director Kathleen Jackson was reappointed to serve as a Board member of the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today by Governor Greg Abbott for a term set to expire in February 2023. Director Jackson has been serving as a Board member since 2014.

"It has been a distinct pleasure working alongside Kathleen in support of our agency's mission," said TWDB Board Chairman Bech Bruun. "She has been a tireless advocate for Texas water, logging 30,000 miles on the road last year alone. Here's to many more."

Jackson is a registered professional engineer and has a diverse background representing agricultural, environmental, industrial, and wholesale-supply interests. She has also served as public affairs manager for one of the world's largest petroleum and petrochemical producers.

"Director Jackson's reappointment by Governor Abbott is a testament to her exceptional work and dedication as a Board member," said TWDB Board member Peter Lake. "Nobody is more committed to Texas water."

Jackson previously served as a past member of the Lower Neches Valley Authority Board of Directors and the Texas Water Conservation Association and participated on the Sabine and Neches Rivers Bay and Estuary Environmental Flows Assessment Program Stakeholders Committee. She received her bachelor's in chemical engineering from North Carolina State University.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
