Texas Water Development Board today approved financial assistance totaling $50,935,872 for water and wastewater system projects

AUSTIN – (July 6, 2017) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $50,935,872 for water and wastewater systems. Of this funding, $4,380,972 was designated for rural projects.

$200,000 to the Barton Water Supply Corporation (Palo Pinto and Erath counties) for water system improvements
$43 million to the San Jacinto River Authority (Harris and Montgomery counties) for wastewater system improvements
$1,033,800 to the City of New Deal (Lubbock County) for water system improvements
$32,072 to the Bracken Christian School of Bulverde (Comal County) for water system connection fees
$1,225,000 to the Greater Texoma Utility Authority on behalf of the City of Krum (Denton County) for water system improvements
$1,890,000 to the City of Quinlan (Hunt County) for wastewater system improvements
$3,555,000 to the Mustang Special Utility District (Denton County) for water system improvements

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
