Texas Water Development Board approves $11,895,777 to the City of Arlington (Tarrant County) for water system improvements

AUSTIN – (July 20, 2017) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $11,895,777, consisting of a $11,445,000 loan and $450,777 in loan forgiveness, from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the City of Arlington (Tarrant County). The City will use the assistance to finance water system improvements.

The financial assistance approved today could save the City approximately $1 million over the life of the loan, in addition to the loan forgiveness.

With the assistance, the City will be able to finance the planning, design, and construction costs associated with electrical system improvements at its water treatment plant.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
