AUSTIN – (July 20, 2017) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $1,188,072, consisting of a $460,000 loan and $728,072 in loan forgiveness, from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the City of Gordon (Palo Pinto County). The assistance will finance planning, design, and construction costs associated with water system improvements.

The financial assistance approved today could save the City approximately $80,000 over the life of the loan, in addition to the loan forgiveness.

The City will use the assistance to replace water meters and more than 10,000 linear feet of pipeline. The improvements will help reduce water loss within the City's water system.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
