Texas Water Development Board approves $5,005,000 to the Cypress Creek Utility District (Harris County) for water and wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN – (January 22, 2018) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $5,005,000, consisting of a $2,035,000 loan from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) and a $2,970,000 loan from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF), to the Cypress Creek Utility District (Harris County).

The financial assistance could save the District approximately $917,000 over the life of the loans.

The $2,035,000 loan provided by the DWSRF will allow the District to finance planning, design, and construction costs associated with pipeline replacement in its water system.

With the $2,970,000 from the CWSRF, the District will finance the planning, design, and construction costs associated with wastewater system pipeline improvements.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
