AUSTIN – (January 22, 2018) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $700,000 in loan forgiveness from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the Holiday Beach Water Supply Corporation (Aransas County). The Corporation will use the assistance to finance the planning, design, and construction of a Hurricane Harvey disaster recovery project.

The Corporation suffered considerable damage during Hurricane Harvey from flooding, high winds, and power outages. The project will allow the Corporation to replace the reverse osmosis membranes at the water treatment plant and two high-service pumps. The Corporation will also be able to replace sections of pipeline damaged during recovery and clean-up efforts, the water system storage building, and security fences.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
