AUSTIN – (January 22, 2018) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $3,110,000, consisting of a $2,810,000 loan and $300,000 in loan forgiveness, from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the City of Ladonia (Fannin County). The City will use the assistance to finance construction costs associated with water system improvements.
The City could save approximately $512,000 over the life of the loan, in addition to the loan forgiveness.
With the assistance approved today, the City will replace approximately 3.5 miles of pipeline, construct a new well house and ground storage tank, and complete other improvements. The TWDB committed $394,650 in December 2013 for the planning and design phases of this project.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
