Texas Water Development Board approves $17,030,000 to the City of Stephenville (Erath County) for wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN – (March 21, 2018) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $17,030,000 from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the City of Stephenville (Erath County). The City will use the assistance to finance acquisition and construction costs of wastewater system improvements.

The City could save approximately $3.1 million over the life of the loan by using the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.

With the funds approved today, the City will make improvements to its eastside sewer project. The City also plans to extend sewer lines from the wastewater treatment plant toward the city airport and along the U.S. Highway 281 corridor.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
