Texas Water Development Board today approved financial assistance totaling $66,585,600 for water and wastewater system projects

AUSTIN – (March 21, 2018) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $66,585,600 for water and wastewater system projects. Of this funding, $20,258,000 was approved for rural water projects.

$1.5 million to the City of Farwell (Parmer County) for a new wastewater treatment plant
$3,205,000 to the City of Kemp (Kaufman County) for water system improvements
$250,000 to the Lil Countryside Water Supply Corporation (Hunt County) for water system improvements
$1,999,600 to the City of Kirbyville (Jasper County) for water system improvements
$8,265,000 to the Sunbelt Fresh Water Supply District (Harris County) for wastewater system improvements
$7,778,400 to the River Acres Water Supply Corporation (Nueces County) for water system improvements
$5,225,000 to the Valley Municipal Utility District No. 2 (Cameron County) for water and wastewater system improvements
$17,030,000 to the City of Stephenville (Erath County) for wastewater system improvements
$300,000 to the Barton Water Supply Corporation (Erath and Palo Pinto counties) for water system improvements
$21,032,600 to the City of Cisco (Eastland County) for water and wastewater system improvements

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
