Texas Water Development Board approves $490,000 to the Brookshire Municipal Water District (Waller County) for a Hurricane Harvey disaster recovery wastewater project

AUSTIN – (April 16, 2018) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $490,000 in loan forgiveness from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the Brookshire Municipal Water District (Waller County). The District will use the assistance to finance the design and construction of a Hurricane Harvey disaster recovery wastewater project.

The District's wastewater system was damaged as a result of Hurricane Harvey. With the assistance approved today, the District will replace pipeline and manholes and make other improvements to its wastewater system.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
