Texas Water Development Board today approved financial assistance totaling $73,825,100 for water and wastewater system projects

AUSTIN – (April 16, 2018) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $73,825,100 for water and wastewater system projects. Of this funding, $3,649,200 was approved for rural water projects.

  • $2,659,200 to the City of Mason (Mason County) for water system improvements
  • $490,000 to the Brookshire Municipal Water District (Waller County) for a Hurricane Harvey disaster recovery wastewater project
  • $5,490,900 to the G-M Water Supply Corporation (Sabine and San Augustine counties) for water system improvements
  • $64,685,000 to the City of Houston (Harris County) for wastewater system improvements
  • $500,000 to the Whitewater Springs Water Supply Corporation (Burnet County) for water system improvements

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
