Texas Water Development Board approves $30 million to the Sienna Plantation Municipal Utility District No. 1 (Fort Bend County) for wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN – (May 3, 2018) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $30 million from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the Sienna Plantation Municipal Utility District No. 1 (Fort Bend County). The District will use the assistance to finance design and construction costs associated with regional wastewater system improvements.

The District could save approximately $8.3 million by using the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.

With the assistance approved today, the District will construct a regional wastewater treatment plant in the south service area. The District will also construct a new regional lift station to divert flows to the Missouri City regional wastewater treatment plant for the north service area.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
