Texas Water Development Board today approved financial assistance totaling $23,324,060 for water projects

AUSTIN – (May 17, 2018) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $23,324,060 for water system projects. Of this funding, $1,324,060 was approved for rural water projects.

  • $1,227,000 to the City of Eastland (Eastland County) for water system improvements
  • $22 million to the Johnson County Special Utility District (Johnson County) for water system improvements
  • $97,060 to the New Ulm Water Supply Corporation (Austin and Colorado counties) for water system improvements

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
