Texas Water Development Board approves $1.5 million to the Lake Amanda Water Control and Improvement District No.1 (Tyler County) for the restoration and rebuilding of the Lake Amanda Dam

AUSTIN – (June 11, 2018) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $1.5 million from the Texas Water Development Fund to the Lake Amanda Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (Tyler County). The District will use the assistance to finance the restoration and rebuilding of the Lake Amanda Dam.

The assistance will allow the District to repair damage to the dam that occurred from flooding in May 2016 and to reinstate its flood control capabilities.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
