Texas Water Development Board today approved financial assistance totaling $7,709,900 for water projects

AUSTIN – (June 11, 2018) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $7,709,900 for water projects. Of this funding, $1.5 million was approved for rural water projects.

  • $3 million to the City of Bandera (Bandera County) for water system improvements
  • $3,209,900 to the City of San Marcos (Hays County) for a nonpoint source pollution project
  • $1.5 million to the Lake Amanda Water Control and Improvement District No.1 (Tyler County) for the restoration and rebuilding of the Lake Amanda Dam

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
