Texas Water Development Board today approved financial assistance totaling $1,300,000 for Texas communities

AUSTIN – (July 9, 2018) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $1,300,000 for Texas communities. Of this funding, $800,000 was approved for a rural water project.

  • $500,000 to the Orange County Drainage District (Orange County) for a Hurricane Harvey-related drainage improvement project
  • $800,000 to the Ramirez Common School District (Duval County) for a new water system

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
