Texas Water Development Board today approved financial assistance totaling $21,050,000 for water and wastewater system projects

AUSTIN – (July 26, 2018) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $21,050,000 for water and wastewater system projects. Of this funding, $415,000 was approved for a rural water project.

  • $19 million to the City of McAllen (Hidalgo County) for water and wastewater system improvements
  • $415,000 to the City of Falfurrias (Brooks County) for a wastewater system improvement project
  • $1,635,000 to the Lone Star Regional Water Authority (Williamson and Bell counties) for water system improvements

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
