Texas Water Development Board approves $2,770,000 to the Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 50 (Harris County) for a wastewater system improvement project

AUSTIN – (August 14, 2018) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $2,770,000 from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 50 (Harris County). The District will use the assistance to finance the design and construction costs associated with a wastewater system improvement project.

The District could save approximately $812,000 over the life of the loan by using the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.

With the assistance approved today, the District will be able to rehabilitate parts of its existing system and construct a new wastewater treatment plant to service the north side of the District.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
