Texas Water Development Board approves $13 million to the City of Kerrville (Kerr County) for water and wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN - (September 6, 2018) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $13 million, consisting of a $5 million loan from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) and an $8 million loan from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF), to the City of Kerrville (Kerr County). The financial assistance will allow the City to finance water and wastewater system improvements.

The City could save approximately $3.1 million by using the DWSRF and CWSRF programs.

The $5 million loan provided by the DWSRF will allow the City to finance construction costs associated with water system improvements.

With the $8 million loan from the CWSRF, the City will be able to finance planning, acquisition, design, and construction costs associated with wastewater system improvements. The improvements will help the City meet current and projected water needs.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
