Texas Water Development Board approves $4.5 million to the City of Shoreacres (Harris County) for water and wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN  (October 16, 2018) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $4.5 million from the Texas Water Development Fund to the City of Shoreacres (Harris County). The City will use the assistance to finance the planning, design, and construction costs associated with water and wastewater system improvement projects.

With the assistance approved today, the City will be able to complete water and wastewater system improvements related to water distribution, supply, and transportation. The project also includes a city-wide water meter replacement program.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
