Texas Water Development Board approves $33,550,000 to the City of San Antonio acting by and through the San Antonio Water System (Bexar County) for water system improvements

AUSTIN  (November 12, 2018)  The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $33,550,000 from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the City of San Antonio acting by and through the San Antonio Water System (Bexar County). The System will use the assistance to finance the construction costs associated with water system improvements.

The System could save approximately $7,343,000 over the life of the loan by using the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund.

With the assistance approved today, the System will be able to rehabilitate and upgrade water system facilities at the La Rosa Pump Station, Wurzbach Pump Station, and Pitluk Wellfield. Additionally, approximately five miles of pipeline will be replaced.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
