AUSTIN  (December 13, 2018)  The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $13,375,000, consisting of a $2,105,000 loan and $11,270,000 in grant funding, from the Economically Distressed Areas Program (EDAP) to Kerr County. The County will use the assistance to finance the construction of a wastewater system project.

In addition to the grant funding, the County could save approximately $35,000 on the loan portion of the assistance.

The project will bring first-time wastewater service to Center Point and surrounding areas in eastern Kerr County. The assistance approved today will be used to finance the third phase of this project.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
