AUSTIN  (January 10, 2019)  The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $14,640,000, consisting of a $4,810,000 loan from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) and a $9,830,000 loan from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF), to the City of Bonham (Fannin County). The City will use the assistance to finance wastewater and water system improvements.

The City could save approximately $3.4 million over the life of the loan by using the CWSRF and DWSRF programs.

The $4,810,000 provided by the CWSRF will allow for the planning, design, and construction of wastewater system improvements. The City will replace and upsize several collection lines.

With the $9,830,000 from the DWSRF, the City will finance the planning, design, and construction of water system improvements. The City will replace approximately 66,000 linear feet of water lines.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
