Texas Water Development Board today approved financial assistance totaling $20,738,032 for water and wastewater system projects

AUSTIN – (February 25, 2019) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $20,738,032 for water and wastewater system projects. Of this funding, $4,210,500 was approved for rural projects.

$2,650,000 to Colorado City (Mitchell County) for wastewater treatment plant improvements
$300,000 to the City of Paint Rock (Concho County) for water system improvements
$450,000 to the City of Kosse (Limestone County) for water system improvements
$485,500 to the City of Nome (Jefferson County) for a Hurricane Harvey disaster recovery project
$325,000 to the City of Anahuac (Chambers County) for a Hurricane Harvey disaster recovery project
$5,151,695 to the City of Arlington (Tarrant County) for wastewater system improvements
$7,645,037 to the City of Garland (Dallas County) for a water meter replacement project
$3,730,800 to the City of Grand Prairie (Dallas, Ellis, and Tarrant counties) for wastewater system improvements

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
