Texas Water Development Board approves $8,420,000 to the Greater Texoma Utility Authority on behalf of the City of Pottsboro (Grayson County) for wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN  (June 4, 2019)  The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of an $8,420,000 loan from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the Greater Texoma Utility Authority on behalf of the City of Pottsboro (Grayson County). The City will use the assistance to finance acquisition, design, and construction costs associated with wastewater system improvements.

The City could save approximately $2.3 million by using the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.

With the assistance approved today, the City will expand its existing wastewater treatment plant from 0.35 million gallons per day to 0.95 million gallons per day and make other improvements.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
