AUSTIN  (June 24, 2019)  The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $1 million in loan forgiveness, consisting of $500,000 from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund and $500,000 from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund, to the City of Kerrville (Kerr County). The City will use the assistance to finance planning, acquisition, design, and construction costs associated with a disaster recovery project.

In October 2018, flooding from the Guadalupe River damaged the City's water and wastewater lines and associated steel bridge. The assistance provided today will reimburse the City for costs associated with removing the damaged water lines and steel infrastructure from the river and provide funds for planning, acquisition, and design of replacement pipeline.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
