Texas Water Development Board approves $1,745,000 to the Fort Bend County Fresh Water Supply District No. 1 (Fort Bend County) for a water treatment plant

AUSTIN  (July 22, 2019)  The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of Fort Bend County Fresh Water Supply District No. 1 (Fort Bend County). The District will use the assistance to finance construction costs associated with a new water treatment plant.

Constructing a second water treatment plant will provide additional capacity and reliable water access for residents. The new plant will consist of a water well, a 500,000-gallon ground storage tank, four booster pumps, two hydropneumatic tanks, and approximately 1,000 linear feet of water line.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
