Texas Water Development Board today approved financial assistance totaling $198,424,999 for water and wastewater system projects

AUSTIN – (October 3, 2019) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $198,424,999 for water and wastewater system projects. Of this funding, $11,844,999 was approved for rural projects.

  • $1,269,999 to the City of Childress (Childress County) for wastewater system improvements
  • $65,750,000 to the City of San Angelo (Tom Green County) for water system improvements
  • $10,575,000 to the City of Marlin (Falls County) for stormwater system and water system improvements
  • $120,830,000 to the City of Austin (Travis, Williamson, and Hays counties) for water and wastewater system improvements

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
