Texas Water Development Board today approved financial assistance totaling $495,829,600 for water and wastewater system projects

AUSTIN – (February 27, 2020) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $495,829,600 for water and wastewater system projects. Of this funding, $28,409,600 was approved for rural projects.
- $27,440,000 to the City of Rockdale (Milam County) for water and wastewater system improvements
- $754,600 to the City of Carbon (Eastland County) for water system improvements
- $458,920,000 to the North Texas Municipal Water District (Collin, Dallas, Denton, Fannin, Kaufman, and Rockwall counties) for wastewater system improvements
- $215,000 to the City of Ivanhoe (Tyler County) for a Hurricane Harvey disaster recovery project
- $8,500,000 to the City of Alton (Hidalgo County) for a drainage improvement project
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
