AUSTIN – (August 5, 2020) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of a $295,000 loan from the Texas Water Development Fund to the Palo Pinto County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (Palo Pinto County). The District will use the assistance to finance design and construction costs associated with a wastewater system improvement project.

The District could save approximately $32,000 over the life of the loan by using the Texas Water Development Fund.

With the assistance approved today, the District will replace approximately 1,650 linear feet of a 6-inch transmission pipeline that conveys sewage from the Hill Country Harbor development to the District's wastewater treatment facility. The replacement of this section of pipeline will comply with the Texas Department of Transportation’s requirements for its proposed Farm-to-Market Road 2951 improvement project.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
