AUSTIN – (November 5, 2020) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $642,000, consisting of a $152,000 loan from the Texas Water Development Fund and a $490,000 loan from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund, to the Bluff Dale Water Supply Corporation (Erath County). The Corporation will use the assistance to refinance existing debt and finance planning, acquisition, design, and construction costs associated with water system improvements.

The Corporation could save approximately $145,000 over the life of the loans by using the Texas Water Development Fund and Drinking Water State Revolving Fund programs.

In 2000, the Corporation received a $189,000 loan from the United States Department of Agriculture for a portion of the land acquisition and construction of a new water supply system. The Corporation will refinance the outstanding balance of $152,000 with the financing through the Texas Water Development Fund to achieve substantial cost savings.

With the $490,000 from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund, the Corporation will drill a second well for emergency use and to meet the area’s projected future needs.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
