AUSTIN – (November 5, 2020) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of a $4,835,000 loan from the Texas Water Development Fund to the Town of Ransom Canyon (Lubbock County). The Town will use the assistance to finance planning, design, and construction costs associated with water and wastewater system improvements.

The Town could save approximately $248,000 over the life of the loan by using the Texas Water Development Fund.

The assistance approved today will allow the Town to replace its aging 225,000-gallon-per-day wastewater treatment plant with a new 310,000-gallon-per-day plant, as well as rehabilitate two water storage tanks.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
