AUSTIN – (December 17, 2020) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $2,615,000, consisting of a $795,000 loan and $1,820,000 in loan forgiveness from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund, to the Angelina and Neches River Authority (Angelina County). The Authority will use the assistance to finance planning, acquisition, design, and construction costs associated with wastewater system improvements.

In addition to the loan forgiveness, the Authority could save approximately $411,000 over the life of the loan by using the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.

With the assistance approved today, the Authority will install new lift stations and a force main to transfer wastewater flow to the Authority's North Angelina County Regional Wastewater Facility.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
