Texas Water Development Board today approved financial assistance totaling $17,623,123 for flood, water, and wastewater projects

AUSTIN – (January 28, 2021) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $17,623,123 for flood, water, and wastewater projects.

  • $5,492,398 from the Flood Infrastructure Fund for watershed flood protection planning studies, storm sewer and drainage projects, and a project receiving federal grant award matching funds
  • $4,000,000 to the City of Diboll (Angelina County) for wastewater system improvements
  • $2,630,000 to the City of Rusk (Cherokee County) for water system improvements
  • $5,500,725 to the City of Sweetwater (Nolan County) for water and wastewater system improvements

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
