Texas Water Development Board approves $2,345,000 to Brookeland Fresh Water Supply District (Jasper, Newton, and Sabine counties) for a wastewater system project

AUSTIN – (February 25, 2021) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of a $2,345,000 loan from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to Brookeland Fresh Water Supply District (Jasper, Newton, and Sabine counties). The District will use the assistance to finance planning, design, and construction costs associated with wastewater system improvements.
The District could save approximately $270,000 over the life of the loan by using the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.
With the assistance approved today, the District will replace piping within the Forest Hills subdivision collection system.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
