AUSTIN – (February 25, 2021) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $5,980,000, consisting of a $3,980,000 loan from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) and a $2,000,000 loan from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF), to Orange County Water Control and Improvement District No. 2 (Orange County). The District will use the assistance to finance planning, design, and construction costs associated with water and wastewater system improvements.

The District could save approximately $1,000,000 over the life of the loans by using the DWSRF and CWSRF programs.

With the DWSRF assistance approved today, the District will replace distribution lines and well pumps and rehabilitate elevated storage tanks. With the assistance provided through the CWSRF, the District will replace sanitary sewer lines, remove and replace 35 manholes, and install nine new manholes.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
