Texas Water Development Board approves $165,665,000 to the City of Pflugerville (Travis County) for a wastewater system project

AUSTIN – (February 25, 2021) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of a $165,665,000 loan from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the City of Pflugerville (Travis County). The City will use the assistance to finance planning, design, and construction costs associated with wastewater system improvements.

The City could save approximately $2,200,000 over the life of the 2021 portion of the loan. Additional savings may occur when the City closes on other portions of the loan.

With the assistance approved today, the City will construct a second wastewater treatment plant.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
