AUSTIN – (February 25, 2021) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $257,494,590 for flood, water, and wastewater projects.

  • $13,100,000 to the City of Brownsville (Cameron County) for flood improvement projects
  • $1,503,954 to the City of Jourdanton (Atascosa County) for a drainage improvement project
  • $5,026,000 to the City of Junction (Kimble County) for flood mitigation projects
  • $4,574,636 to Nueces County Drainage and Conservation District No. 2 (Nueces County) for drainage improvement projects
  • $2,345,000 to Brookeland Fresh Water Supply District (Jasper, Newton, and Sabine counties) for a wastewater system project
  • $5,980,000 to Orange County Water Control and Improvement District No. 2 (Orange County) for water and wastewater system projects
  • $165,665,000 to the City of Pflugerville (Travis County) for a wastewater system project
  • $59,300,000 to the City of Bay City (Matagorda County) for water and wastewater system projects

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
