AUSTIN – (March 10, 2021) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $91,127,000 for flood and water system projects.
- $32,670,000 to the Hidalgo County Drainage District No. 1 (Hidalgo County) for a flood improvement project
- $12,903,000 to the Cameron County Drainage District No. 5 (Cameron County) for drainage improvement projects
- $84,000 to the City of Tyler (Smith County) for flood study projects
- $5,470,000 to the Greater Texoma Utility Authority on behalf of Lake Kiowa Special Utility District (Cooke County) for a water line replacement project
- $40,000,000 to the City of New Braunfels (Comal and Guadalupe counties) for water system improvements
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
