Texas Water Development Board today approved financial assistance totaling $14,723,473 for flood and wastewater projects

AUSTIN – (April 8, 2021) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $14,723,473 for flood and wastewater projects.

  • $438,473 to the Willacy County Drainage District No. 2 (Willacy County) for a drainage improvement and detention pond project 
  • $4,510,000 to the City of Pharr (Hidalgo County) for a drainage improvement project
  • $9,775,000 to the City of Bowie (Montague County) for wastewater system improvements

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
