AUSTIN – (April 22, 2021) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of a $2,490,000 loan from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the Acton Municipal Utility District (Hood County). The District will use the assistance to finance construction costs associated with wastewater system improvements.

The District could save approximately $303,000 over the life of the loan by using the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.

With the assistance approved today, the District will make improvements to its De Cordova Bend Estates Wastewater Treatment Plant. The assistance will address a shortfall in construction funds for the project, which previously received funding from the TWDB.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
