Texas Water Development Board approves $300,000 to the Evadale Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (Jasper County) for water system improvements

AUSTIN – (July 7, 2021) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $300,000 in principal forgiveness from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the Evadale Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (Jasper County). The District will use the assistance to finance planning, design, and construction of water system improvements.

With the financial assistance approved today, the District will replace approximately 9,000 feet of deteriorating water lines with polyvinyl chloride pipe. The proposed project will decrease water loss and service interruption and increase production capacity and reliability.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
