AUSTIN – (August 19, 2021) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $38,956,119 for a water system and flood projects.

  • $2,160,000 for watershed flood protection planning studies
  • $125,000 to the City of Cameron (Milam County) for a flood mitigation project
  • $3,887,186 to the Harris County Flood Control District (Harris County) for a flood mitigation project
  • $24,006,760 to the Willow Fork Drainage District (Fort Bend County) for a drainage improvement project
  • $1,410,000 to the City of Palestine (Anderson County) for a dam rehabilitation project
  • $7,367,173 to the City of Arp (Smith County) for water system improvements

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
