Texas Water Development Board approves $124,300 to the Barksdale Water Supply Corporation (Edwards County) for water system improvements

AUSTIN – (October 7, 2021) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $124,300 in loan forgiveness from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the Barksdale Water Supply Corporation (Edwards County). The Corporation will use the assistance to finance design and construction of water system improvements.

With the financial assistance approved today, the Corporation will enhance its water system by installing cartridge water filtration units to its wells along with new valves, piping, and fittings. The Corporation also proposes to replace its existing manual meters with automated meters to improve metering accuracy and reduce apparent water loss.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
