AUSTIN – (October 7, 2021) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $1,594,372, consisting of $995,000 in financing and $599,372 in loan forgiveness from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF), to the City of Comanche (Comanche County). The City will use the assistance to finance planning, design, and construction of a wastewater system improvement project.

In addition to the loan forgiveness, the City could save approximately $523,000 over the life of the loan by using the CWSRF.

With the financial assistance approved today, the City will replace deteriorated sewer lines throughout the City's collection system. The project also includes a feasibility study to potentially increase the capacity of the City’s wastewater treatment plant to meet future demand projections.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
