Texas Water Development Board approves $11,645,000 to the Greater Texoma Utility Authority on behalf of the City of Princeton (Collin County) for water system improvements

AUSTIN – (November 19, 2021) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $11,645,000 from the Texas Water Development Fund to the Greater Texoma Utility Authority on behalf of the City of Princeton (Collin County). The City will use the assistance to finance the planning, design, and construction of a water system improvement project.
With the financial assistance approved today, the City will construct a new 2-million-gallon elevated storage tank, as well as approximately 10,000 linear feet of water line to connect the elevated storage tank to an existing pump station.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
