AUSTIN – (December 16, 2021) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $14,501,000, consisting of $10,251,000 in financing and $4,250,000 in loan forgiveness from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund, to the City of Dilley (Frio County). The City will use the assistance to finance the planning, design, and construction of wastewater system improvements.

In addition to the loan forgiveness, the City could save approximately $3,600,000 over the life of the loan by using the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.

With the assistance approved today, the City will decommission one of its two wastewater treatment plants and upgrade its second wastewater treatment plant to accommodate the City’s entire service area. The City will address the improvements through a three-phase project that includes constructing approximately 18,000 feet of 18-inch sewer line, upgrading a lift station, and increasing the wastewater treatment plant’s capacity.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
